"My siblings are my best friends." -America Ferrera   Birthdays are perhaps the best days and worst days. I say this because we reflect back upon all the highs and lows of that year and begin to look forward to a whole new adventure. I think it can be one of the worst days too because we start to realize how old we are. As I sit contemplating the ongoing life of my little brother Angelo Ramos, I am filled with joy for his birthday on July first, but I realize that he is growing up and is not a little baby anymore.   Nevertheless, I still believe his smile is the same as is was ten years ago on the day he was born. The following reads a letter to my little brother, who is not so little anymore:   Dear Angelo,   To be honest, four-year-old Francesca was not happy at all to get another brother. I cried and promised that I would share all of my toys if the baby were a girl. I was devastated, to say the least then, but, as soon as I laid eyes on you, I forgot all of my irrational sorrow and swapped it for childish delight. From that moment on, I knew we were going to be best friends; I promised that I would always have your back in everything you do, even if it meant giving you all of my toys instead of just sharing them.    I remember when you were about four, we bought you a Lego set meant for people fourteen and older that contained more than 900 pieces. You proceeded to complete building it entirely in less than one hour without the instructions. We knew that you were most likely going to be an incredible inventor in whatever you do when you grow up. Your inventions, whether it be made out of Legos, cardboard, or anything else,  they never cease to amaze me!   Being a tech-savvy kid, you have learned how to create your own levels in games, and you are so good at them! One of the things I think about when it comes to electronics is how incredible you are to adapt to new devices. Although you don't have a phone, you can help all those who ask you for it when it comes to them. All those television shows, the little brother always follows the older sibling around, so the older sibling always complains. I had never found it an issue when you did this because I think I would do the same thing to you if our ages swapped. I will never hesitate to play with you because you, and I are so similar, even though we are very different in age.    You make everyone crack up with your hilarious jokes, especially when you make your funny impressions of accents and famous people. When someone is feeling blue, you can always make them feel better while one of your jokes! In fact, you do it every day!   As you grow and grow, I see a kind and witty boy that will undoubtedly grow up to be an incredible person. Do not forget your thoughtfulness ever, for you have been such a blessing to all who meet you. Remember that you will always hold a massive place in our hearts.  I know now that the greatest gift our parents gave us was each other.     Happy Birthday, Angelo!   Love, Francesca   "After a girl is grown, her little brothers – now her protectors – seem like big brothers." -Terri Guillemets
