The Double “R” Twirlettes will begin their 71st season with classes at the United Methodist Hall, Daleville on Tuesdays at 5:45pm.

The Twirlettes are an award-winning baton twirling group that holds state, regional, and national championships.

They have been guest performers at Walt Disney World, the World’s Fair, the Miss America Parade, Cypress Gardens, Sea World, Universal Studios, the National Cherry Blossom Festival, the U.S. Capitol, The Little League World Series, The New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade, The Royal Naval Dockyard in Bermuda, Canada’s Wonderland, Niagara Falls, London, Paris, and Russia.  They have also been featured performers on Royal Caribbean and Carnival cruise ships.

The Double “R” Twirlettes has a strong tradition of charitable and volunteer work.  Each year they conduct a benefit twirl-a-thon for St. Joseph’s Center and a recital for charity.  The group has donated well over $150,000 to local charities.

Quality and professional training will be offered in baton twirling, dance twirl, novelty twirl, marching, and pom-pom.  Students will learn proper twirling techniques while incorporating them with dance steps and music to enhance coordination, poise, and skill.

The importance of self confidence, sportsmanship, and teamwork are also stressed to make students more well rounded individuals.  Students have the opportunity to participate in local parades and performances in addition to the group’s annual recital, twirl-a-thon, and summer performance vacation.

Classes are offered from beginner to advanced levels for ages four and older. In addition to Daleville, lessons are also offered in Scranton and Throop.  For more information or to register call 570-489-1935, visit www.doublertwirl.com or visit the group’s Facebook page.
