Dunmore – The following work is scheduled for this week throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.  Anyone wishing to sign up for PennDOT Travel Advisories can do so by emailing James May at jamay@pa.gov.  Follow/like PennDOT on Twitter at 511PANortheast and Facebook at Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).

Remember this holiday season to drive safe.  Please wear seat belts, use proper children safety seats  and don’t text and drive.  Attending a holiday party please do not drink and drive.   To keep up on  traffic issues please check out 511PA.com.

The holidays are a festive time for Americans, and endless parties with friends, families, and co-workers can easily lead to drinking too much alcohol.  Drinking and driving accounts for one-third of vehicle-related fatalities in the United States. Keep your holidays merry and bright by remembering to always drive sober, no matter what.

Long Term

SR 307 Bridge over 81 (Moosic St, Scranton) June 28 thru August 10 – Northbound side will be closed and traffic will be down to one lane each way on the southbound side as per the traffic control plans. This is for the rehabilitation activities of SR307 and abutments. These dates are all tentative and can be changed due to submittal approvals and/or unforeseen issues at the project site. The River Street on ramp to I-81 N tentatively schedule  to be shut down on August 15, 2018.   The ramp is now open.

There will be a detour in place for the duration in which traffic will be directed south to Montage Mt Road Exit on 81, spin around back onto 81 North.  The project will shut down for the winter by end of December.  The project will resume in the spring of 2019 and no additional closing of River St off ramp will be needed.   The current weather is the cause for the delay.
