Please note: Central Scranton Expressway will be closed starting on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 8 p.m. to Monday, morning April 23 at 6 a.m.   Please note that the car detour will be Moosic Street and the truck detour will be Davis Street for the start of the removal of the old Harris Avenue Bridge over the expressway.

Starting Wednesday, April 18 through the end of the month PennDOT will be conducting a pothole blitz across District 4.

Lackawanna County

There will traffic issues on SR 3019 (Spring Street in Moosic and SR3024 (Main Street) Moosic on Saturday April 21, 2018 for the Moosic Little League Parade from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

The Department of Transportation will have a public meeting on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the Clifton Township Building 361 State Route 435, Clifton Township, PA for the 4th Street over Lehigh River County owned Bridge Replacement Project, Clifton Township, Lackawanna County starting at 6 p.m.  The purpose of the meeting is to provide the project team an opportunity to explain the project and answer question on an informal basis.  Preliminary design plans will be available for review.

Short Term 

SR 247-Church, Grassy Island-Jessup/Blakely-Moving-Sweeping-16-Apr-18-20-Apr-18-7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

SR 1025-Wemberly Road-Scott Twp.-Single-Pipe Replacement-Inlet/Endwall Repair-16-Apr-18-20-Apr-18-7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

SR 4002-Baylor's Lake-Benton Twp.-Single-Pipe Trench patch-16-Apr-18-20-Apr-18-7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Long Term

SR 1012, Archbald Borough- At the intersection of Kennedy Drive and County Road, work is taking place to form a four-way intersection with the opposite Borough street. A new traffic signal will be installed at this intersection as well, and Kennedy Drive will be widened to accommodate a center turn lane from Main Street to Monica Drive. An additional left turn lane may be added on Main for left turns on to Kennedy Drive. The project should be completed by the summer of 2018.

Bridge Now Open to traffic . SR 6011(Harrison Avenue), Scranton - As part of the ongoing project to replace the Harrison Avenue Bridge, the Central Scranton Expressway is a single lane pattern in each direction.  The project completion is 2018.
