Susquehanna University
• Gabrielle Lang of Elmhurst Twp., was recently published in Essay, a campus literary magazine at Susquehanna University. Launched in 2000 and published annually, Essay includes creative nonfiction pieces such as memoirs, personal essays and literary journalism contributed, selected and edited by Susquehanna students. Lang, a creative writing major at Susquehanna, is a 2011 graduate of North Pocono High School and the daughter of Russell Lang and Eileen Healey.

University of Scranton
• Megan McDonough of Moscow and Dylan O'Keefe of Madison Twp., were among the students serving as officers of The University of Scranton's more than 80 clubs and organizations for the 2014-15 academic year. McDonough is a senior in the Kania School of Management and serves as secretary of the The University of Scranton Business Club. O'Keefe is a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences and serves as president of the Ranger Challenge.

Widener University
• Taylor Brown of Covington Township, a sophomore English major at Widener University, recently spent the winter break studying in Costa Rica. Brown traveled to Costa Rica as part of a study abroad trip involving both environmental science and business classes. The main focus for the students was on sustainable development in the tropics. Brown spent significant time in Costa Rica at Las Lajas Farms, which produces the beans used for Widener's own organic, bird-friendly coffee, WU Brew.
