George T. “Tommy” McPhaul

Tommy McPhaul, 81, of Wake Forest, NC, died on June 30, 2010.

Born on December 17, 1928, Tommy was a retired veteran of the United States ARMY, having served in Germany, Japan, Korea and Vietnam. After retirement, he became a lifetime member of the VFW and the 25th Infantry Association. 

He and his wife belong to The Heritage Baptist Church, of Wake Forest. He was indeed a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend, and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Survivors include: wife Carol Sachse McPhaul; daughter Ann Overby Patterson; son-in-law, John; son George T. McPhaul Jr. and daughter-in-law Katie; two granddaughters, Joanna Patterson and Bethany Cox; and grandson-in-law Dan Cox. 

His extended family in Moscow includes: the family of the late Crawford and Wanda Sachse; their children Allen Sachse, Rosemary Weise and the late Elaine Friebie, along with their respected spouses and children.

The burial will be held in Arlington National Cemetery, on August 18 at 2 p.m.
