On Jan. 26, at approximately 7 p.m., firefighters with the Madisonville Independent Fire Company were responding to a carbon monoxide alarm in the North Pocono area when a blaze broke out in the truck’s engine compartment.
On Jan. 26, at approximately 2:45 p.m., PSP-Dunmore responded to an incident at the intersection of Delaware Street and Sanderson Avenue in Scranton.
On Jan. 21, at approximately 8 p.m., PSP-Honesdale responded to a structure fire at Lake Lorraine’s Club House/Restaurant, 76 Lake Lorraine Rd., Preston Twp. The fire destroyed the entire building and all of its contents.
On Jan. 19, at approximately 8:30 p.m., PSP-Honesdale responded to an incident at SR-247, Lake Como, Preston Twp. In the commission of this crime, Steven J. Caiati, 34, of Lake Como, set off homemade explosive devices outside of a structure occupied by a 36-year-old male, two females ages 27 and 62, and two children, a six-year-old girl and a one-year-old boy.
On Jan. 11, jewelry was cashed into Jerry Land Jewelers, according to PSP-Honesdale. The jewelry was recovered from Jerry Land Jewelers and three of the pieces are easily identifiable with a date or initials.
PSP-Honesdale is currently attempting to locate John Anthony Saggese - 17 year old male, 5’7”, 160 lbs., hazel eyes and brown hair - who was last seen at his parents residence located on Millcreek Road, Dreher Twp., Wayne County on Jan. 23 at approximately 4 p.m.

Offenses reported: 497; total founded offenses: 492; offenses cleared: 263; criminal arrests: 237; number of incidents responded to: 2,877; drug arrests: 19; number of accidents: 276; number of hit and run accidents: 13; number of fatalities: 3; number of injured: 97; number of traffic citations: 1,424; number of D.U.I. arrests: 55; number of warning notices: 844.
On Jan. 17, at approximately 9:30 a.m., PSP-Honesdale responded to the scene of a single motor vehicle crash on Galilee Road, Damascus Twp.
On Jan. 15, at approximately 5 p.m., PSP-Honesdale responded to the scene of a single motor vehicle crash on SR-247, Clinton Twp.
Sometime between Jan. 9-13, a vehicle was stolen at 698 South Sterling Rd., Dreher Twp., according to PSP-Honesdale.
Lackawanna County
In the early morning hours of Wednesday, Jan. 18, PSP-Dunmore arrived on the scene of a fatal crash on Center Road, south of Fox and Hound Road, Covington Twp.
Nearly $25 million is on its way to volunteer fire companies and ambulance services across Pennsylvania, but only if the organizations finish the paperwork, said State Sen. Tim Solobay.
On Jan. 12, PSP-Dunmore issued an update stating that a warrant of arrest had been issued for Jason A. Roberts, 22, for escape charges.
On Jan. 11, PSP-Honesdale responded to the scene of a reported theft on Fern Drive, Milestone Estates Development, Wayne County.
On Jan 7, PSP-Honesdale began investigating a burglary at the residence of Lane Jones, 527 Cakins Rd., Wayne County. The crime occurred sometime between 5 p.m. and 7 a.m.
On Jan. 7, at approximately 8:36 a.m., PSP-Dunmore responded to the scene of a crash on I-380, Spring Brook Twp.
PSP-Honesdale was notified of an incident at Orsen Methodist Church, Wayne County, that occurred between Jan. 6 and 9. In the commission of this crime, unknown actor(s) attempted to force entry into the church sometime during the above dates. Anyone with any information is asked to contact PSP-Honesdale at 253-7126.
On Jan. 6, at approximately 2 a.m., PSP-Dunmore responded to an incident at A&C Food and Fuel, 405 Main St., Lackawanna County. Once on scene, troopers discovered that the suspects had accessed the building by cutting a hole in the roof.
PSP-Honesdale responded to an incident at 45 Gager Rd., Wayne County, that occurred overnight on Jan. 4.
On the morning of Jan. 11, at approximately 6:40 a.m., PSP-Dunmore responded to the scene of a two-car crash on Main Street (Rt. 435) in Moscow, just before the intersection with Church Street.
