A. Since 1929 under different names as times have changed.

Q. Why did you start this business?
A. The Manor at Waymart started as Spojnia Farm in 1929 when there was a need for people, without a place to live or family who were able to meet their needs, to stay. We have since evolved into the deficiency free personal care home we are today.

Q. What has been the best part about owning your business? What have you enjoyed most?
A. We are honored and truly enjoy being able to be an extended family to and the caregivers of our residents as we provide them with a safe, caring and loving home in which to live.

Q. What has been the most challenging aspect of owning a business? Have there been any struggles?
A. Keeping our rates affordable with the rising cost of goods in our trying economic time.

Q. What are your products and/or services?
A. Highly trained staff provides care to our residents 24/7. Care is dependent on the resident’s needs and can include help with bathing, dressing, and administering medications. Planned activities and outings are provided that vary by the season. Located in a beautiful country setting with a large front porch and backyard solarium, our home and grounds are non-smoking for the added health and safety benefit of our residents. We have a modern one level clean home environment and offer peace of mind from our central smoke, fire, and door alarm systems. Linens, laundry and housekeeping are included. Our rooms have a 1/2 bath and large closet(s) and are furnished with a bed, chair, nightstand with table lamp, dresser, mirror, and phone with local service. Residents are able to use our furniture or bring in their own. Either way they are encouraged to bring in items to decorate their room to make it their own. Long distance phone service and in-room Internet or cable television is available through South Canaan Telephone and Adams Cable. We also offer private, semi-private, and private deluxe rooms at competitive rates.

A. We really care about our residents and our goal is to help them maintain as much of their independence as they can. The staff and residents are part of our home and family. You are invited and encouraged to call for further information or to schedule a tour.

A. All personal care homes are private pay. The Veterans Administration offers the Aid and Attendance Benefit to qualifying veterans and their spouses which can help pay for staying at The Manor at Waymart.
