Interstate 81
 
Short Term

I-81--Clifford TWP-Lane Restrictions-Patching/Brushing-Monday, July  8/06/2018-Friday August 8/09/2018-7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Exit 191 to Exit 206 Median-Lackawanna-191-206-Mowing-6-Aug-18-9-Aug-18-7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Exit 206 (Glenwood and Lenoxville) to Ext 230 (Great Bend) North and SouthBound there will be a lane restriction for bridge patching, pothole repair and brushing around signs. Starting on Monday, August 6, 2018 to Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Exit 182: Baseball is back: Please note there will be traffic issues at Davis Street, I-81 and Montage Mountain Road, Moosic, at the beginning and end of the games.  The next home game will be on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 and Wednesday, July 25 game starts at 7:05 p.m.   Thursday, July 26 games starts at 12:05 p.m.  Friday, July 27 games starts 7:05 p.m.  Saturday, July 28 games starts at 6:35 p.m. Sunday, July 29 game starts 1:05 p.m.  Friday, August 3 games starts at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, August 4 game starts at 6:35 p.m. and Sunday, August 5 games starts at 1:05 p.m.

The Pavilion at Montage Mountain: On August 17 concert Five Finger Death Punch and Breaking Benjamin.  Please be advised that there may be traffic  issue on I-81 and Montage Mountain. Motorists should use caution when traveling in the area.  

Lackawanna County

There will be traffic issues in down town Scranton on Saturday, August 4, 2018 for the Annual Artist Festival at Courthouse Square.

There will be a public meeting by the Pennsylvania Department  of Transportation:  S.R. 0081 section 239: Improvement Project City of Scranton, Lackawanna County. Scranton Municipal Building  340 N Washington Avenue, City Council Chambers 2nd Floor, Scranton, PA  on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 6 p.m.  The purpose of this meeting is to provide the project team an opportunity to explain the project and answer questions on an informal basis.  Preliminary Design plans will be available for review.

Long Term

SR 1012, Archbald Borough- At the intersection of Kennedy Drive and County Road, work is taking place to form a four-way intersection with the opposite Borough street. A new traffic signal will be installed at this intersection as well, and Kennedy Drive will be widened to accommodate a center turn lane from Main Street to Monica Drive. An additional left turn lane may be added on Main for left turns on to Kennedy Drive. The project should be completed by the summer of 2018.

SR 307 Bridge over 81 (Moosic St, Scranton) June 28 thru August 10 – Northbound side will be closed and traffic will be down to one lane each way on the southbound side as per the traffic control plans. This is for the rehabilitation activities of SR307 and abutments. These dates are all tentative and can be changed due to submittal approvals and/or unforeseen issues at the project site. The River Street on ramp to I-81 N tentatively schedule  to be shut down on August 15, 2018.   The ramp will be closed for 61 days (October 14th).  There will be a detour in place for the duration in which traffic will be directed south to Montage Mt Road Exit on 81, spin around back onto 81 North.
 
Bridge Now Open to traffic . SR 6011(Harrison Avenue), Scranton - As part of the ongoing project to replace the Harrison Avenue Bridge, the Central Scranton Expressway is a single lane pattern in each direction.  The project completion is 2018.
