Live Birds of Prey!, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.

Get up-close and personal with LIVE raptors!

Meet a falcon, an owl, and a hawk during this fun and informative program with the Pocono Wildlife Rehab Center.

Discover the human connection we have to the raptor food chain and how important avian adaptations are for the survival of these birds of prey.

Learn how the resident birds were injured and how they are rehabilitated. Geared to all ages. $5 per person. Pre-registration is required.

• November 14, 2017

LCEEC Beekeepers Club, 7 p.m.

Whether you are an experienced beekeeper, a new-bee, are interested in beekeeping or would simply like to learn more about the honey bee, this group is for you! Join us for fun, friendship, and education as we share our beekeeping experiences.

The primary goals of the group are to promote honey bee colony wellness, share best practices and experiences in beekeeping, and discuss production of honey and other apiary products.

All are welcome!

The club meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Lackawanna College Environmental Education Center, 93 MacKenzie Road, Covington Twp., PA 18444. Club meetings are free and open to the public. *This club was designed to complement LCEEC’s Beginner Beekeeping Certificate Program which begins on September 14th and runs until November 16th, 2017.

Live PA Mammals!, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.

Get up-close and personal with LIVE native mammals! Join Angie Colarusso, founder of Second Chance Wildlife Center, as she introduces us to some of her furry friends. Learn about wildlife rehabilitation and mammal adaptations during this LIVE animal show. Geared to all ages.

$5 per person. Pre-registration is required.

93 MacKenzie Road, Covington Township, PA 18444 GPS Coordinates 41°16'16" N 75°32'46" W

From Rt. 81 or Rt. 380 South Bound: Take Rt. 380 South to exit 20 toward Daleville. Go left onto Rt. 307 S. Travel approx. 2 miles and turn right onto Rt. 2018, Dorantown Road (Perih Group LLC will be on your left). Travel 1 mile and make a left on to Sandy Beach Road. Travel 1 mile and make a right onto MacKenzie Road (gravel road). Follow MacKenzie Road until you reach LCEEC on your left.

 

From Rt. 380 North Bound: Take exit 13 onto Rt. 435 N toward Gouldsboro (approx. 4 miles). Bear left onto Rt. 307 (approx.7 miles). Turn left onto Rt. 2018, Dorantown Road (Perih Group LLC will be on your right). Travel 1 mile and go left onto Sandy Beach Road. Travel 1 mile and make a right onto MacKenzie Road (gravel road). Follow MacKenzie Road until you reach LCEEC on your left.

 

From Scranton Rt. 307: Follow Rt. 307 for 10 miles (through 3 lights, Lake Scranton, Rt. 690 & Rt. 502. Make a right on Dorantown Road Rt. 2018 (Perih Group LLC will be on your left). Travel 1 mile and make a left on to Sandy Beach Road. Travel 1 mile and make a right onto MacKenzie Road. Follow MacKenzie Road until you reach LCEEC on your left.
