SCRANTON— It’s never too early for The Nutcracker – at least that’s the feeling at the Scranton Civic Ballet Company.
When Toyota of Scranton invited members of the community to participate in its Christmas in July Celebration, the Scranton Civic Ballet was honored to contribute a selection from its annual holiday ballet.
On July 19, during day seven of Toyota’s 12 Days of Christmas event, which featured daily entertainment, crafts, food and surprises, members of the ballet company offered a performance.
Under the artistic direction of Miss Helen Gaus, students and adults, ranging in age from 8 to 75, shared an excerpt of the timeless story that unfolds as the delicate Sugar Plum Fairy and all of Tchaikovsky’s musical sprites weave their enchanting spell.
Currently, The Scranton Civic Ballet is hosting open enrollment for the 2017-2018 season.
