Last night, the Emergency Shelter - “Warmth in the Night” - opened from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. at the Grace Episcopal Church in Honesdale. It will remain opened through Saturday, Jan. 23, and possibly longer.
The shelter will be open on those nights when the temperature and/or wind-chill drops below zero degrees (F). Volunteers from the Church and community will staff the shelter.
For the homeless, those who are stranded, those whose heating source is inadequate... We are working with the local Emergency Crews and Borough Police to provide safety for our residents or those in transition.
