The Rotary Club of Newfoundland has set the date for its 4th Annual Benefit Auction on Saturday Aug. 6.
Due to its success, the Flea Market has been expanded and will run Saturday, Aug. 6 and Sunday, August 7.
New this year - rental space will be available for $10 and on a first come first serve basis.
Due to the growth of the Auction and Flea Market, the location has changed to the GDS Fairgrounds in Newfoundland.
Silent Auction Bids will be accepted all day Saturday culminating in a Live Auction at 5 p.m.
Proceeds of the auction benefits the many projects of the club including the Greene Dreher Volunteer Fire Association who will again be assisting with the auction.
The Rotary Club is seeking donations of saleable items from the community and surrounding areas.
The type of items the Rotary Club is looking for include: collectibles, antiques, home décor, tools, sports equipment, vehicles, boats, household items, toys, building supplies, china, house wares, indoor and outdoor furniture etc.
This is a great opportunity to clean out that attic or garage and dispose of unneeded items plus make a tax deductible donation that will benefit the community.
Here’s the great part – the Rotary Club can pick up the items!
Items the Rotary Club cannot accept include: white goods, computers, televisions, mattresses, pianos, organs, tires and clothing.
In addition to the Greene Dreher Volunteer Fire Association, the Rotary Club supports the community through the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Newfoundland Area Ambulance Association, American Red Cross, improvements at the Carlton Drake Park and the Newfoundland Library to name a few.
The Rotary Club has awarded over $150,000 in scholarships to area students for the past 34 years.
If you have items that you wish to donate or for questions you may contact either of the following Rotarians: Roger Altemier 676-3384 or Diane Hiller 676-3920.
Remember we are looking for donations of saleable items.
Plan to attend the 4th Annual Auction and Flea Market on Aug. 6 and 7... you may find something you simply cannot live without!
